My mother fondly recalls a snapshot from my childhood — a tiny me, nestled in the grass in our backyard, cradling a dandelion gone to seed, gently tracing the contour of its fuzzy tuft with my fingertips. In my earliest years, I forged an innate connection with the wonders of nature. That moment, and many other quiet ones like it, encapsulate my enduring reverence for creation, a lasting thread in the fabric of my being.

MY STORY

Throughout the years, I explored various art forms, but my passion for sculpting ignited during a night class with renowned sculptor Rhoda Sherbell at The Art Students League of New York in 2011. Under her guidance, I discovered a deep sense of calling, much like my bond with nature, as I learned to work with wire armatures, molding and shaping clay into forms that stirred something within me.

Sculpting is a reverent journey for me. When I sink my hands into warmed clay, my mind grows still, and something deeper begins to stir. I let my fingertips do the work — pinching, pulling, smearing, and pressing — shaping the clay in a way that feels both instinctive and devotional. In this quiet rhythm, forms emerge as reflections of what has been placed on my heart. My figurative works draw from nature, allegory, and womanhood, each carrying a quiet strength and pointing, in their own way, toward a beauty greater than ourselves.

When my hands aren’t covered in clay, you can find me:

  • Enjoying every sweet and silly moment with my two, little boys

  • Gardening and figuring out ways to fit more trees & plants into my yard

  • Reading allll the history books

The creation of something new is not accomplished by the intellect but by the play instinct acting from inner necessity. The creative mind plays with objects it loves.
